If you need to know which Bob Book will be right for your child, see the Is your child ready for reading? section to get more information.

One of the most important things about learning to read with Bob Books, is that children have such a good early reading experience. They not only learn to read, but they love to read. Be sure to allow your child to progress at his or her own pace. Your child will be excited to move forward when her or she is ready.

Q. Are there any Bob Books after Set 5? What should my child read next?

A. Bob Books Set 5, Long Vowels, is currently our most advanced reader. However, upon completion of Set 5, your child will have skils to read many more popular books.

The author recommends: Frog and Toad, by Arnold Lobel; Danny and the Dinosaur, and other books by Syd Hoff; Little Bear by Else Holmelund Minarik and Maurice Sendak. Parent Tony has recommendations in our What You're Saying section.

Q Will Bob Books guarantee my child is able to read at 3 years old?

A. In a word, No. Your child will determine what age he or she is ready to read.

All children learn at different rates. Some children will be ready to read at age 3, others not until age 5 or 6. Pushing a child before he or she is ready only results in unhappiness for all. Let your chlid set the pace. When your child is ready to read, Bob Books is a great place to start. See Is Your Child Ready for Reading for more information.
